Plastpack manufactures press seal plastic bags for businesses that need a secure, reusable closure on every pack. These are also known as sealable plastic bags, snap-lock bags, resealable bags or clip-lock bags. Because we extrude our own film, print it and form the bags in our own Australian facility, you buy sealable plastic bags directly from the manufacturer rather than from a reseller holding third-party stock. That gives you control over thickness, sizing and print, consistent batches, and film held on-site for fast supply.

We hold an extensive range of press seal plastic bags in stock and produce made-to-spec runs on request. Our three core lines are:
Premium Press Seal, 50 microns
A general-purpose sealed plastic bag for everyday packing, sample storage, small parts and resealable retail use. The 50 micron wall gives a firm seal with good clarity for product visibility.
Heavy Duty Press Seal, 75 microns
A thicker-walled bag for sharp, heavy or abrasive contents such as fixings, components and hardware. The 75 micron film resists puncture and holds its seal through handling and transport.
Write-on Panel Press Seal, 50 microns
The same dependable closure with a matte white panel for labelling by hand. Useful where batch numbers, dates, contents or specimen details need to be recorded directly on the bag.
Please note
Stock bags may come with a red, blue or clear strip at the top of the bag. This is beyond our control on stock lines and applies except for custom orders. Sizes are specified as Opening x Depth in millimetres, with depth measured from the seal.
Custom and Printed Press Seal Bags
Off-the-shelf sizes do not always suit the job. As the manufacturer, we produce sealable plastic bags to your required size, thickness, seal and print. With up to six-colour printing in-house, we can add your branding, handling instructions or compliance text directly to the bag. For non-standard sizes or printed press seal bags, give us a call and we will help define your requirements and quote on your bags. The minimum quantity for any custom-size press seal bag is 10,000. You can also order a sample to evaluate the film and seal before committing to a run.
Choosing the Right Thickness
The correct gauge depends on what goes inside the bag and how it is handled. Lighter contents and short storage runs are well served by 50um. Heavier, sharper or frequently handled contents call for 75um to avoid splitting and seal failure. What is a press seal bag?
A press seal bag is a plastic bag with an interlocking closure along the opening that is pressed shut by hand and can be reopened and resealed. It needs no heat or tape to close, which suits storage, sampling and resealable packs. It is also called a sealable, snap-lock, grip seal or zip lock bag.
What thickness press seal bag do I need?
For light contents and general storage, 50um is usually enough. For heavy, sharp or frequently handled items, 75um resists punctures and holds the seal better. Match the gauge to the weight and edge profile of the contents.
Are your sealable bags food-grade?
We manufacture food-grade sealable bags for food-contact applications, made to the relevant food safety requirements. Specify food use when you enquire so we supply the correct product.
